Andrew Bynum had a successful knee operation

Los Angeles center Andrew Bynum had a successful arthroscopic surgery to repair partially torn ligament in his knee in New York.

The tear in his meniscus was discovered during the Laker’s first-round series against Oklahoma City but Bynum refused to miss out the postseason and postponed the surgery to a later date. Although the knee injury and a strained Achilles’ tendon limited his movement he was still able to contribute 8.6 points and 6.9 rebounds during the postseason games of Lakers. Matt Barnes officially introduced as Lakers

Matt Barnes, 6-foot-7 and 226-pounds, was officially introduced as a Laker. The Los Angeles Lakers signed him to a two-year deal worth approximately $3.6 million.

Tour de France 2010: Stage 20 Winner

The last stage of the Tour de France covering a distance of 102.5km that started from Longjumeau to Paris Champs-Elysees was just a formalization matter in terms of leadership.

As expected, the final stage is just a showcase of sprinter riders with no effect in the leadership standings.

The final Stage 20 race was won by Mark Cavendish. It was Cavendish’s fourth stage win this year. He was followed by Alessandro Petacchi and Julian Dean.

Durant shines at USA Basketball Showcase

Kevin Durant lead all scorers with 28 points on a 10 out of 17 field goal, 6 for 6 from the foul line and six rebounds in 29 minutes powering the White team past the Blue team 114-96 at the USA Basketball Showcase Saturday night.

He was ably supported by Andre Iguodala with 17 points, going 5 of 6 from the field and making all three 3-point attempts.

Kings Tyreke Evans license suspended

Sacramento Kings guard Tyreke Evans has pleaded no contest to reckless driving.

On May 31, California Highway Patrol pulled over a Mercedes being driven by the NBA’s Rookie of the Year, Tyreke Evans, driving at more than 100mph on Itnerstate 80 in Sacramento County spotted by an air patrol. Evans was cooperative and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
