Mayweather apologizes for his racist rants (video inside)

A day after the controversial, homophobic comments on video streaming,  Mayweather returned to Ustream to clear the air with his fans and boxing public. His comments in the previous video resulted in public outrages who watched the profaned video.

These are the statement Mayweather mentioned in the boradcast.

“I do want to apologize for what happened the other night, I want to apologize to everybody. They felt it was a racist comment that came from me. I don’t have a racist bone in my body, you know. I love everybody. Some of my guys are Muslims. Some of my guys are Jews. Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans, whites, it doesn’t matter. There is nothing but love in my heart, you know what I’m saying?” (more…)

Mayweather is out of control as he shows arrogant behavior. In the video, you can see Mayweather as a person who’s looks like in dire need of attention. He is surrounded by yes men and people who are just after his money. You can also see Mayweather flaunting his money.

He released this video as a clear indication that he is jealous of the attention and star treatment Pacquiao is receiving. In fact he even said that Manny Pacquiao is a good fighter but he is the best fighter of all and one day they meet up and he’s gonna win. (more…)

Dela Hoya drumming up Pacquiao-Marquez for third fight

Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar dela Hoya is drumming up the third match between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.

After the California State Athletic Commission’s decision not to grant license to Pacquiao’s opponent Antonio Margarito for their November 13, Dela Hoya conducted a conference call with several media members to make his case and arrange a third match between Pacquiao and Marquez. (more…)

Donnie Nietes retains WBO crown

The Soft spoken and unassuming World Boxing Organization minimum weight champion Donnie “Ahas/Snake” Nietes retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision over 21 year old hometown boy Mario Rodriguez in Sinaloa, Mexico.

It was Nietes fourth successful title defense, three of them in Mexico which has turned out to be a lucky hunting ground for one of the most underrated world champions in the Philippines. (more…)

Lakers sign Derrick Caracter

The Los Angeles Lakers recently signed second-round draft pick Derrick Caracter a day after inking their other second-round selection Devin Ebanks.

Caracter, a 6-foot-9, 270-pound forward taken at No. 58 pick by the Lakers, was being courted also by several teams overseas before settling on a two-year deal with the Lakers. In the terms, Caracter is guaranteed the rookie minimum of $473,604 in 2010-11 with a team option in place worth approximately $788,000 for the following season.

Plagued by weight, conditioning, and attitude issues at Louisville, many wondered if Caracter even had a future beyond college. But the 22-year-old has shed almost 30 pounds since finishing his junior season at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he averaged 14.1 points and 8.1 rebounds in 27 games with the Miners. Philippines Smart Gilas moved past Iran for Semifinals

In the Philippines’ quarterfinal match against Iran in the 3rd FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup at Lebanon, they unleashed the fury of their offense in the last quarter to win 79-67.

Woods Leads and then falls back in pack at PGA

After the fog finally lifted over Whistling Straits, Tiger Woods’ name was atop the leaderboard but not for long.

Woods, made three birdies inside 12 feet on the opening four holes, a birdie in his final hole just to break par, finished the first round with 1-under 71. This is a good start for him considering his recent showing in WGC-Firestone. (more…)

Shane Mosley beats Shaquille O’Neal in Exhibition Match (Video Inside)

Shane Mosley, former welterweight champion and 5 feet 8 inches tall defeated Boston Celtics 7’1″ center Shaquille O’Neal in an exhibition match via a unanimous decision.

The five round exhibition match drew constant cheers from an appreciative and entertained crowd. Mosley pulled away in the later rounds to defeat the Diesel who’s been bullying and hovering the much smaller Shane Mosley. (more…)

Pacquiao wants Mayweather: Calls for him to get it on

Look who’s calling out Floyd Mayweather Jr to go on with the potential mega-fight. It’s Manny Pacquiao.

In a very rare instance, the world’s top pound-for-pound fighter, has challenged his unbeaten rival to face him in the ring on Nov. 13.

Pacquiao said in his weekly blog that came out in a popular boxing website that Mayweather needs to prove himself in the ring if he is not really a coward. He further said that he already gave in more than what is necessary and accepted some of the requests that Mayweather asked for just to have this fight to go through. (more…)

Abu Dhabi possible site for Pacquiao’s next fight

Manny Pacquiao adviser Mike Koncz is in the thick of negotiations with interested partners in Abu Dhabi to bring the November 13 fight between Pacquiao against Mexican Antonio Margarito.

Arum said the Abu Dhabi people are coming up with a mouth-watering offer to host Pacquiao-Margarito. While he did not say how much Abu Dhabi people is willing to shell out, an industry source said Pacquiao could get close to what he had been promised had the Floyd Mayweather fight materialized. Juan Manuel Marquez defeats Juan Diaz by unanimous decision

Juan Manuel Marquez retained his WBA and WBO lightweight titles with a unanimous decision victory over American Juan Diaz II on Saturday and demanding a third fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Although Marquez is ten years older than his opponent, which is usually a disadvantage for the older combatant, the Mexican proved that age is only a number as he successfully defended his lightweight titles with a convincing decision over Juan Diaz. (more…)

Margarito applies for boxing license with California Commission

Former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito reapply for his boxing license with the California Athletic Commission.

He lost his boxing license a year ago when the same California Commission revoked it shortly after a plaster-like substance was found on his hand wraps before his bout against Shane Mosley in January 2009. (more…)
