The last stage of the Tour de France covering a distance of 102.5km that started from Longjumeau to Paris Champs-Elysees was just a formalization matter in terms of leadership.
As expected, the final stage is just a showcase of sprinter riders with no effect in the leadership standings.
The final Stage 20 race was won by Mark Cavendish. It was Cavendish’s fourth stage win this year. He was followed by Alessandro Petacchi and Julian Dean.

Fabian Cancellara, one of the world’s top time-trial riders, won the Stage 19 time-trial race outpacing Tony Martin and Bert Grabsch both of Germany, who were 17 seconds and 1 minute, 48 seconds respectively behind the stage winner.

Stage 18 of Tour de France was the fourth stage win for Mark Cavendish who sprint his was to finish in Bordeaux.
Cavendish outsprint his rivals as he finished ahead of Julain Dean and Alessandro Petacchi even without the help of his banned lead-out man Mark Renshaw. (more…)

Andy Schleck wins the stage 17 of Tour de France. Although he beat Alberto Contador to the line, they got the same time as they crossed the line together in the most difficult and challenging race of the Tour that ends at the top of the giant Col de Tourmalet.

The Stage 16 race from Bagneres-de-Luchon to Pau covering a distance of 199.5km was won by Frenchman Pierrick Fedrigo.
He was followed by his compatriot Sandy Casar and Ruben Plaza of Spain. Lance Armstrong finished 6th in the race although he got the same time with Fedrigo but the effort is not enough since he is currently in the 25th overall standing about 33 minutes behind the leader. (more…)

Stage 15 of the Tour de France 2010 was won by Thomas Voeckler of France. Voeckler breakaway from his four companions to win the mountainous, 187.5-km ride from Pamiers to Bagneres-de-Luchon. At second place, Alessandro Ballan outsprinted Aitor Perez Arrieta.

French Rider Christophe Riblon won the stage 14 race from Revel to Ax 3 Domaines covering a distance of 184.5 km. He was followed by Denis Menchov and Samuel Sanchez 50 seconds behind Riblon gaining about 15 seconds on Schleck and Contador.

Alexandre Vinokourov wins the 13th stage of Tour de France 2010 from Rodel to Revel, a 196 km race, when he surged in the final climb to Revel.
Briton Mark Cavendish outsprinted the main bunch to take second place in the 196-km ride ahead of Italian Alessandro Petacchi.

The Tour de France Tenth Stage covering 179 km distance from Chambery to Gap was won in a sprint by Portugal’s Sérgio Paulinho followed by Vasil Kiryienko and Dries Devenyns of Belgium.
On the other hand, his RadioShack teammate Lance Armstrong felt another two minutes behind overall leader Andy Schleck.
Andy Schleck maintains the Yellow jersey after the ninth stage followed by Alberto Contador the depending Champion and Samuel Sanchez of Spain. Schleck is 41 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Alberto Contador and 2 minutes 45 seconds of Sanchez.
